PALESTINE - Jolonda Freeman Permanent Cosmetics has joined Jamie’s
Therapeutic Touch’s full service day spa and medi spa.
Freeman has been doing permanent makeup for five years and is a
Certified Intradermal Cosmetic Technician. Freeman is currently
living in Dallas and driving in to do permanent makeup work at
Jamie's.
"With permanent cosmetics, this is no longer a fantasy and no
longer for celebrities only," said Freeman. “It’s so convenient
for people who have hectic lifestyles and just don’t have the time
to spare each morning.”
Freeman says there are many reasons a woman should love her ‘new’
look without make-up.
“Everyone should consider getting their eyebrows, lips or eyelids
done,” Freeman said. “Permanent makeup also is ideal for women
with allergies to makeup, or for those who might suffer from poor
vision or an unsteady hand.”
The process, known as micro-pigmentation, dates back to the start
of the 20th century and became popular in the 1930s. In the last
few decades, inks that contained iron-oxides were replaced with
all-organic pigments, which prevent the discoloration and fading
that made the procedure less-desirable in the past.
Freeman has worked on women ages 16 to 80, who chose permanent
makeup for reasons of both convenience and necessity, she said.
“I love what I’m doing because it helps people look and feel
better about themselves,” Freeman said.
Not all clients are women. Many of the clients are men as
permanent cosmetics may offer some flattering applications for a
man as well. For example: lash enhancement, which denses the
lashes, adds color and depth to eyes; brow enhancement, which
makes the brows stronger and more prominent, and can change the
shape of the entire face and expression. Particularly for the very
blonde man, a taupe pigment is implanted between the lashes and
between the brows creating a greater depth and definition of
features.
